The start of this itinerary is near the “La Turna” Adventure Park (www.laturna.it).
The excursion aims to lead walkers to discover the ruins of almost forgotten ancient manors, which have marked the history of this area.
In the shadow of the Castle of Montestrutto you start walking along a stretch of the Via Francigena that connects Carema to Ivrea and then, having reached the Castle of Settimo Vittone and the ancient and fascinating Baptistery of San Lorenzo, you proceed through numerous hamlets up to reach the village of Cornaley, where the lunch stop will take place.
After recovering your energy, crossing a beautiful area of chestnut trees, you reach the hamlet of Panvoglio, where the descent towards the Chiussuma stream will begin, in front of the Castruzzone Castle, then reaching the Cesnola Castle, also known as Castelletto.
The last part of the route rejoins the Via Francigena and a stretch of path used on the outward journey.
The route in question has an average altitude difference of 880 m. it is therefore suitable for an audience that already has a propensity for walking in the mountains and allows passages in villages with panoramic views of considerable value on the valley below.
